Step 1 : In the event of an accident

Keep claim and take down particulars of involved parties including Name, NRIC/FIN number, Phone number, Address, Insurer and Vehicle number.
Take down any witness’s particulars and contact number.
Take necessary photographs of all involved 3rd party vehicles & the accident scene.

Step 2 : Accident Reporting

You need to report all accidents to the insurer’ appointed workshops within 24 hours immediately after the accident or latest by the next working day.
This is required in all cases, whether or not your vehicle has suffered any visible damage and whether or not you intend to claim against your own policy or any other party.
*Do not admit liability, make an offer/settlement/promise with any third party(ies) on behalf of the insurer.

Step 3 : To lodge a police report?

You are required to lodge a police report if the accident involves:
A. Injury to any parties
B. Government vehicle or government property
C. Foreign vehicle
D. Pedestrian or cyclist
E. "Hit-and-run" case
F. Accident occurred out of Singapore (Police report must be done before leaving the foreign country)

Step 1 : Upon learning of any circumstances likely to give rise to a claim, you must:

  • - Take all necessary measures and steps to mitigate any loss and/or damage.
  • - Do not dispose off the damaged items until insurer’s approval.
  • - Immediately make a police report and co-operate with insurer in securing the conviction of the offender if loss/damage is caused by housebreaking, theft, malicious damage, vandalism or other criminal acts.
  • - In the event of a potential claim from a third party against yourself or any member of your family:
    • - immediately send to us any letter of demand, writ of summons, legal documents or other communication served on you;
    • - do not admit liability or make any promise regarding settlement without our written consent.

Step 2 : Please refer to link below and report the claim to the MOM I-Reporting if it is applicable.

Report the accident
When: Within 10 days of accident or from the 4th day of MC
You are required to report a work-related accident to MOM if one of the following applies:
- It results in the death of an employee.
- The employee has to take more than 3 days of MC (whether consecutive or not).
- The employee was hospitalised for at least 24 hours.
- For cases with 3 or fewer days of MC, you should report the accident to MOM if the employee wants to claim permanent incapacity compensation.

Submit the followings
  • - WIC claim form
  • - MOM I-Report
  • - Original bills and Medical Certificates (MC)
  • - Discharge summary / doctor report
  • - Past 12 months’ salary vouchers before accident and during medical leave period
  • - Copy of the employee IC/WP/EP/S-pass

We may need to send a surveyor to site before you can repair/reinstate the property.

Step 2 : Kindly prepare the following:

  • - Copy of Police Report / Incident Report
  • - Colour Photos of damaged property and location
  • - CCTV footage showing circumstances of incident
  • - Assessment Report from repairer on the cause and extent of the property damage
  • - Copy of original Purchase Invoices/Receipts for the lost/damaged property (if not available, provide full description of the items including make, model, age and condition, and purchase date and price)
  • - At least 2 Repair/Replacement Quotations for the lost/damaged property
  • - Original Repair/Replacement Invoices/Receipts
  • - All correspondences exchanged between you and the negligent third party

*Please DO NOT dispose of the damaged item until we have settled your claim, in the event that we need to inspect / verify the damages.
